About Me

I’ve had a lifetime passion for performance cars and motorsports. In 2004 I purchased a new Radical SR3 with a 1300cc Hayabusa and sequential 6 speed. The original intent was to take my enthusiasm for Sportscars and develop some real skills driving at the track. With all the safety features, race tracks are the proper environment to develop road racing skills.

Over the next year about twelve like-minded individual purchased Radicals SR3s, and what evolved was a great group of guys attending once a month outings at various tracks in Southern California. Over time we morphed from the frequent lead-follows on track (dog fights) to the occasional impromptu race. I quickly realized that the racing was igniting my competitive juices.

As my skills improved and I started getting better results, getting several podiums in 2004-05 My first signature win came in June of 2005 racing on the streets of Mexico, in the Grand Prix of Tijuana. It was a really fun event as it had been promoted on the radio and Coke and Tecate had some sponsorship skin in the game, and brought their race chicas. The promoter had some small bleachers and a decent size crowd, so there was quite a bit of fanfare after the win and the victory lap with the checkered flag. Way Cool! My only regret was not doing a massive burnout for the crowd after the win

In 2007 Jeff Shafer spearheaded the North American Radical Cup Series. He put together a 10 race weekend schedule that was comprised of 20 races at some of the best racetrack in the country. This prompted many of the Radical owners to sign up for the entire season. The races were primarily 30 minutes sprint races, with two classes of Radicals: SR3 and Invitational. To make it interesting, four of the races were elongated into one hour endurance races. This created a mini-series with in the race season. I won the very first race in my backyard at Phoenix International Raceway, and had found my passion!
